Overview

Specs

The Meinl Turbo Slaptop Cajon is a conceptual step up to a new level. This model is designed to bring the striking surface up nearer to the player, for a more upright playing style. The sound projects forward into the audience from the sound port located on the front of the instrument, which is also convenient for microphone placement. High and low tones, as well as a snare effect are built into the sound board, both of which project forward. This Cajon has all of the outstanding acoustic properties of any standard Meinl Cajon with two sets of snares located on each side of the instrument, each having their own sound port. The turbo slap top Cajon is perfect for ample volume levels. Striking the sides and corners gives more slap and snap sounds, while playing in the middle of the surface delivers deep and boomy bass punches. Soft finger rolls are also easily achievable with its ultra-sensitive playing surface. Cajon are the perfect instrument to use for softer acoustic gigs when a full drum set cannot be used.

Features

Create Drum Set Grooves with Bass and Snare Notes Using your Hands
The playing surface has two zones for snare and one for bass - play with your hands toward the center for deep bass and strike near the sides with your fingers for crisp snare sounds

Upright Playing Position
The unique T-shape design of the Meinl Turbo Slaptop Cajon allows you to sit up naturally with the playing surface in your lap - this is an easy and fun percussion instrument that anyone can play, regardless of skill level

Internal Snares
Dual sets of internal fixed snare wires are positioned against the inside of the playing surface on the left and right sides for an articulate snare effect - these coiled steel snares are the same type you would find on a snare drum

Walnut Frontplate with Modern Composite Body
The walnut playing surface along with modern composite body dish out cutting slap tones, warm bass and respond to soft finger rolls or brush playing - the walnut wood grain pattern also adds a stunning look

Forward-Facing Sound Ports
There are three forward-facing sound ports that project your rhythms to your audience while enveloping you in a healthy dose of sound - a large port on the bottom develops your bass while two smaller ports on top project snare
