This djembe is carved from one solid piece of plantation grown Mahogany wood and is hand carved and painted with an African Congo motif. The sound quality of Headliner djembes from Meinl is unmatched in this price range. Hand selected goat heads combined with the traditional Mali Weave rope tuning system come together to deliver cutting, high pitched slaps and deep, resonant bass tones. These drums sing and project with very little work, making them ideal for beginners and recreational players. Take them outside for jam sessions, play live with a group, or record with them in the studio! The performance quality of Meinl Headliner djembes makes them a standard piece for any musical setting.

Mali Weave Rope Tuning System
18 nylon rope runners (4 mm thickness) securely fasten the head to the shell for a long-lasting and proper tuning with a classic look - comes ready to play and fully tuned right out of the box so you can play right away

Hand Carved Motif (Congo Finish)
The hand carved mahogany shell is finished with an ancient ornamental Congo motif around the bottom - the hand made design means no two djembes are exactly alike, making each drum one-of-a-kind
